I have been called by the Lord to work within prison ministry and my calling led me to Operation Oasis. Since my initial meeting with Michael Lee, the Executive Director I have accepted the responsibility of teaching an Operation Oasis Transitional Skills Class @ the Bill J. Priest Campus of El Centro College. Working with the transitional skills students is such a rewarding experience for me. There are so many things that I take for granted in my life and it is inspiring to see individuals committed to making a difference for themselves. I had the opportunity to share the joy of a couple who had newly devoted themselves to Christ and wanted to be married, actually by participating in their wedding ceremony. I will never forget this day for the rest of my life! I applaud the Operation Oasis team for the way they have come along side this group of people to allow them to feel the love God has for all of us, as well as provide much needed education at the same time. In Him, Terri Solis: My family and I were recently hit with one of the toughest trials of our lives.  My 19 year old son was arrested for a crime that involved the death of another young man.  The young man pulled along side my son and wanted to race him on the freeway...When my son refused to race him the young man sped off and lost control and ended up hitting another car killing himself and injuring two others in the car he hit...My son was (according to the police) guilty until proven innocent...Being a single mom and watching your son go through such an ordeal is very hard and at times I felt so alone.  I did not know what to do or where to turn.  It seemed as if immediately the Lord spoke to me and led me to my church (NDCBF).  I wasn't there five minutes and I was told about Michael Lee at Operation Oasis.  I had never met Mr. Lee and I was not too familiar with the organization Operation Oasis.  As soon as I met Mr. Lee he took my son and I into his office and wasted no time in calming the both of us.  He prayed with us and he advised us of what could lie ahead in the days and weeks to come.  He immediately got on the phone and called one of the best attorneys he knew.  He set up an appointment for us to meet with the attorney that same week.  The amazing thing is that he even found a prayer partner to come alongside my son and one for me as well...He and his wife Juanita (who works with him) have been a lifeline for my family.  God is truly amazing.  At a time I thought I was so very alone, he led me to not only the legal help we needed but even more so he led us to people who are an extension of His love.  One of the biggest blessings the Lord has given me (a single mom) is the knowledge that people like Michael Lee and his wife and Operation Oasis is out there...I frequently call on Juanita Lee and she lends me her shoulder to cry on.  God is truly amazing and shows up in the midst of the storms of life.   Operation Oasis 888 S.
